By registering on Teacher Parent App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not register or use this application. Your continued use of the application constitutes ongoing acceptance of these terms.
Teacher Parent App is a communication platform designed solely to facilitate the exchange of information between teachers and the parents or guardians of learners. The application enables teachers to share academic updates, homework, tests, assignments, attendance records, school events, and related notices with parents.
This application is a communication service only. Tecvo (Pty) Ltd does not provide educational instruction, academic tutoring, or any form of teaching service through this platform. The app does not guarantee, promise, or imply any improvement in a learner's academic performance, grades, or results. Whether a learner passes, fails, progresses, or achieves any particular outcome is entirely independent of this application and remains the sole responsibility of the learner, their school, and their educators.
This application is intended for use by teachers employed at South African schools and by parents or guardians of learners enrolled at those schools. All users must be 18 years of age or older. By registering as a parent and adding a child to the application, you confirm that you are that child's parent or lawful guardian and have the legal authority to share the child's personal information for the purpose described in clause 2. By registering, you confirm that the information you have provided — including your name, school, and child details — is accurate and truthful. Fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorised registrations may result in immediate account suspension without notice.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your password with any other person. You must notify us immediately at support@tecvo.co.za if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account. Tecvo (Pty) Ltd shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or breach resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials.
We collect and process personal information — including your name, contact number, email address, school details, child information, and any profile photographs you choose to upload — solely for the purpose of facilitating communication between teachers and parents within the application. Your personal data will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for commercial purposes. Data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Cloud) infrastructure. You may delete your account at any time from within the application (Settings → Delete Account). The application also serves as a record of school communications: when content or an account is deleted, the item is removed from the app and hidden from other users, but a single copy is kept in a restricted internal archive (not visible to any user) for 12 months and is then permanently and automatically deleted, used only to resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. By using this application, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this clause and in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. Users agree to use this platform exclusively for its intended educational communication purpose. You must not use the application to harass, intimidate, threaten, or defame any teacher, parent, learner, or school official; to share false, misleading, or harmful information about any learner or educator; to post content that is offensive, discriminatory, obscene, or unrelated to the educational context; or for any unlawful purpose. Violation of this clause may result in permanent account termination and, where applicable, referral to the appropriate authorities.
Teacher Parent App is a communication tool. Tecvo (Pty) Ltd makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee — whether express or implied — that use of this application will result in any improvement to a learner's academic performance, marks, promotion, or any other educational outcome. The app does not guarantee that any learner will pass any grade, subject, or examination. Academic results are determined by factors entirely outside the scope of this application, including the learner's own effort, school instruction, and individual circumstances. Users acknowledge and accept this limitation in full.
The school information available within this application is sourced from official data published by the South African Department of Basic Education. While we endeavour to keep this data current, Tecvo (Pty) Ltd does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of school data at any given time, as school details may change. Users should verify critical school information directly with their relevant institution.
Teacher Parent App is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Tecvo (Pty) Ltd makes no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Tecvo (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or in connection with your use of — or inability to use — this application, including but not limited to loss of data, missed communications, or any impact on a learner's education.
Tecvo (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Where material changes are made, users will be notified within the application. Your continued use of the application after any changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
